     In brief, yes, but you do need to make sure to match pairs of plates
taken in the same color, viz. POSS-I O (blue) against POSS-II J (blue-green),
or the POSS-I/II red plates.  Because the passbands don't match exactly,
small changes may be simply due to the mismatch especially for red stars.
     The main problem is that you at best only three or four observations
in one color.  All you've done is make work for yourself to actually get
a lightcurve to determine the period, range, etc.  And with tens of
thousands of mostly unstudied variables already catalogued, you want more?
