[vsnet-chat 4682] Re: QW Sge Anomaly

Steve asked about my photometry for QW Sge and its companion.
To be honest, my photometric pipeline only uses
aperture photometry and so did not separate the variable
and its close companion cleanly. Combined light in 1999 was about
V=12.3 and (V-R) = 0.8, so not too dissimilar to what
you are getting now. I would have to go back and psf-fit
the frames to separate the two stars. This will be done before
our massive photometric paper on symbiotics gets submitted,
but is not high on my agenda right now. Munari and Buson
list the companion (only 3.5arcsec north) as having
V=13.14 and (B-V) = 0.45.
