Dear Dr. Kato,
Thank you for your reply on my comments in the case of V1494 Aql. I still am
convinced that observer Ort estimated the comparison-star. As an experienced
observer I have doubts about your statement, that "some novae look particularly
brighter to some observers". Why? Maybe in the case of deep-red bright carbon-
stars, when obervers use different observing-methods : direct and averted
vision. But I am suspicious when one observer sees a 13th-magnitude star as
a 11.7-star, and there is a 11.8 close. At magnitude 13 color-effects in a
23-cm telescope are not very likely I suppose. What are the vs-net criteria to
reject an observation or not?
