The advice I was given today by some of the folks at IPAC involved
in producing the IRAS catalogues was to go with the detection showing
the smallest error-ellipse. This is somewhat delphic advice in the case
of the NSV object, so for now I suppose we must assume that the older
point-source position lies by coincidence on the fainter red variable,
while the faint-source position more accurately links with the bright BD star.
