Maciej Reszelski commented on the identification for V452 Cas.
There is a field photometry file for this object (requested
by Patrick Schmeer) at
http://ftp.nofs.navy.mil/pub/outgoing/aah/sequence/v452cas.dat
in which the original (red) D&S object is identified as:
RA DEC V B-V
00:52:18.30 +53:51:43.5 (J2000) 15.798 +1.323
DWS later refined their id to point to the bluer star to the
northwest:
00:52:18.03 +53:51:49.9 (J2000) 18.81 +0.28 (2 nights)
There have been a couple of outbursts recorded of this NW star
(e.g., Oct99,Nov99) with Tonny getting a 2h07m superhump period.
I don't know why USNO-A1.0 does not contain both of these stars,
but close pairs are always hard to automatically resolve. Don't
trust USNO-A to contain every star down to the plate limit; always
check against either DSS or the NOFS pixel server.
