I believe there was some debate on VSNET Chat a while back re VSOLJ
bulletins as information sources, where the professionals noted that
SIMBAD won't necessarily include these in their bibliographic index,
etc...

...anyway, JAAVSO only seems to come out twice a year, and then not
necessarily regularly. It can take up to 18 month from receipt to
publication too.

Nothing wrong with that, and all quite okay, but it's not exactly the
same as IBVS. No online access either.

Has either VSOLJ or AAVSO the resources to pump up the output rate....?

...if not, a note on VSNET pages will probably have to suffice. After
all, as I said afore, quite a few references in Namelist 75 are to VSNET
messages!

[NB, for them that have kept saying I ought to publish: I've a paper
(with co-author) in the June 2000 JBAA on R Aql etc, the imminently due
next JAAVSO should have a paper of mine re W Dra & R Hya not changing
period anymore, and Radiant's (journal of the Dutch Meteor Society) June
issue should carry a paper I cobbled together on some of their video
meteors that appear to be associated with C/1961 T1.

So what? I hear you cry! Well, the main point being that these papers
were written 30, 18 and 6 months ago respectively, yet all have appeared
in Jun/Jul 2000. That's not exactly topical enough for disseminating
info on variables....]
