MV TrA is also coincident with IRAS F16372-6318 [IRAS Faint Source Cat].
Unfortunately, it is also the Hipparcos double HDS 2370 of 0.4"
separation & mag 8.95 & 9.83.
Duplicity and variability are two sides of the Hipparcos experiment
"coin", in that two stars can appear as one variable dependant on
resolution etc.
However, it does seem from the catalogues that this star was newly
discovered as _both_ variable and multiple by Hipparcos!
