Dear all,
I have checked several DSS scans of the field of NGC 3432, and found
that a hint (rmag about 19.5) of the object reported in IAUC 7415 can
be seen on DSS2 R images taken on May 16 and 17, 1998 at Palomar
(limiting mag about 20 or slightly deeper). It cannot be seen on
other DSS images (DSS2 Bj taken on 1991 and 1996, or DSS1 R taken on
1953).
It is possible that the object was in outburst also on 1998, or that
it was in the quiescent phase on 1998.
Sincerely Yours,
Hitoshi Yamaoka, Kyushu Univ., Japan
