Subject: TYC2/GSC 6870 00614 1
The following [fairly] random date sampling, though somewhat bitty and
based on a very mixed bag of catalogues not known for accurate
magnitudes (and having slightly dissimilar passbands), suggests that
TYC2/GSC 6870 00614 1 is normally at 'maximum' rather than in 'fade', as
would be fitting for an RCB star or some type of eclipsing object.
Possibly owners of the new UCAC1 CD can provide a value for a more
recent epoch?
ac2000 epoch = 1913.6 BT mag = 11.7
usno a1.0 epoch = 1954.7 blue mag = 12.3
usno a2.0 10 Aug 1974 blue mag = 11.6
usno a2.0 18 Aug 1979 red mag = 11.1
gsc [serc-v] 18 May 1987 gsc mag = 11.6 +/- 0.4
Tycho2 mean epoch = 1991.3 BT mag = 12.8 +/- 0.3
Cheers
