Just to keep things interesting...
Another gamma ray burst has just gone off, and
the RXTE satellite has produced a position:
RA +08h 03m 12s J2000
DEC -17d 05' 59"
(with possible improvements in a few hours)
The burst took place UT 000115 14:49:32.03
or about 10 hours ago. If an optical transient
is present, it could still be at 17th mag or so,
pretty easy for most amateur telescopes. Anyone
want to give it a try?
