Ayeeeeeee! I left off 3C273. Well, it isn't a star, anyway!
Stan suggested another cepheid, but the only reason I put delta
Cephei on my list was to acknowledge the contribution the cepheids as
a group made to galactic distance measures. I also note there is as
much prejudice to the northern sky in my list as there is for the
southern sky in the southern hemisphere folk! And I made a single
AAVSO visual estimate of SN 1987A from Andacollo Chile, a miniscule
contribution compared to Stan's.
