Hi Lew,
A couple of nights ago I looked up and there was Mira. I'm glad to see it
on your list! And SN1987A was an old favourite - we did a lot of UBV
measures on that!
Maybe a star like FO Aquarii should replace your Crab Pulsar - at least we
can measure the pulses on FO with a small telescope. And l Carinae is a
much more visible Cepheid.
And I've still got soft spot for VW Hydri, the best of the SU UMa stars.
