The nova still has to fade another 1.5 magnitudes
before I can start observing it, and then it will
be behind the sun, no matter what t5 prediction
is made. :-)
Seriously, it is objects like this where amateurs
can make a large contribution. Not only can you
do filtered, time-resolved photometry near maximum,
but such objects are also bright enough to do spectroscopy
with small telescopes. There are a few of these
every year.
