Dear Colleagues,
I'd like to point at one interesting think about GRB 990123. In fact - I'm very excited about this gama burst for last 24 hours. As many of you know there is an idea (because of two redshifts in a burst spectra obtained at Palomar (?), Z1=1.6 & Z2=0.2) that the burst was gravitationaly lensed by closer galaxy. It means:
1) We can suspect that there will be another brigtening in next two days or weeks 'cause of geometry of gravitational lensing (source dr. rene Hudec & CBA)
2) It is posible that many of burst are lensed too. (If z >2 it should be around 10% of them - source dr. Mikulasek)
So it should be possible that energy for bursting must not be so high as thought before.
These topics could be very good target for discussions on VSNET especialy if there are some gama astronomers working on this in the list.
I wish you goog work
