Preprint on TGRS observations of gamma-ray lines from novae (Harris et al.) Dr. Harris (NASA GSPC) has kindly sent us a preprint entitled "TGRS Observations of Gamma-Ray Lines from Novae. I. Limits on the Positron Annihilation Line in Five Individual Novae" (M. J. Harris et al., Ap. J. submitted). They studied five novae (Nova Cir 1995, Noba Cen 1995, Nova Sgr 1996, Nova Cru 1996, Nova Sco 1997) using the TGRS (the Transient Gamma Ray Spectrometer) on board the WIND spacecraft. Thanks to the authors, they referred to observations posted to VSNET, in all these novae. In their works, the determination of the epoch of nova explosion (t=0) is very important, because several lines have decay time-scales of hours. This article clearly provides another support for the necessity of early notification of novae discoveries, early and prediscovery (positive/negative) observations which most severely constrain the explosion timings. e-mail to Harris: harris@tgrs2.gsfc.nasa.gov
