Ron Stone has been acquiring more FASTT 8" CCD drift scan
data in the equatorial zone fields described in our AJ
paper about a year ago. He is also processing the crowded
Milky Way fields. The combination of these two efforts
is about a factor of two additional variables than given
in our paper. Several dozen of these stars are what I
call CV candidates, where the photometry is faint most
of the time with a few considerably brighter points.
I would like to offer these candidates to the visual
observing community if anyone is interested in following
them for a while and seeing how many are real CVs. I do
not expect a large percentage to be real, but you never
know. They are all definitely variables of some type. I'm
kinda busy this week, but if there is any interest, then
I will try to get an initial list ready in a week or two
(in time for the next new moon).
