This information (and the same note has appeared in IAUC 7019) should
be correct, but I guess it is misleading some.  

Indeed, SN 1998eb exists, but its magnitude is lower than Pesci's
limit.  It is clearly shown in the image provided by discoverers;

Also, Dr. Stapper has kindly provided the image of NGC 1961 taken by
8" SCT with ST-7, 8*5 minutes exposure, at Sept. 20.89UT.  It is
