Dear VSNET members,
Hello. I am Seiichi Yoshida working on the MISAO Project. Now I
introduce you the examination result of sn1998dm.fts, which was
introduced us in [vsnet 1561].
These data are automatically measured by the PIXY system, an automatic
image examination software, of the MISAO Project. Reference catalog is
USNO-A1.0 (V) [V=R+0.375(B-R)]. False data removal and identification
verification have been done by hand after all. For more information
about the project and the system, please see the URL:
http://vsnet.info.waseda.ac.jp/muraoka/members/seiichi/misao/
The output view of the PIXY system is available at:
http://vsnet.info.waseda.ac.jp/muraoka/members/seiichi/misao/tmp/vsnet/sn1998dm.gif
The data of SN 1998dm is:
01 26 13.66 -06 06 10.6 mag=14.2 x= 188.80 y= 147.32
SN 1998dm in MCG -01-4-44 1h26m13s.97 - 6o06'14".0 16.8 mag (peak: 16.5 mag) type:Ia Aug. 22 Lick Observatory Supernova Search
Because the supernova is overlapping on the host galaxy, the measured
position is very inaccurate (5.7 arcmin from the position in IAUC) and
the measured magnitude is also inaccurate.
In USNO, the host galaxy MCG-01-4-44 is separated into three pieces
and there is a false data at around the position of the supernova.
01 26 10.28 -06 10 20.4 mag=16.42 x= 202.78 y= 223.98
USNO0825.00327283 01 26 10.44 -06 10 19.8 14.4 R 15.6 B (14.85V)
looks like an anonymous galaxy.
The position of MCG-01-4-44 in NGC2000 is very different. So the
automatic identification software failed to find this identification.
01 26 14.32 -06 05 40.8 mag=14.5 x= 185.94 y= 138.15
USNO0825.00327522 01 26 14.55 -06 05 36.9 9.3 R 9.7 B ( 9.45V)
USNO0825.00327515 01 26 14.47 -06 05 38.0 10.5 R
USNO0825.00327490 01 26 14.04 -06 05 55.4 11.1 R
MCG-01-04-044 R.A.=01 26.3 Decl.=-06 04 12.5 mag
There are some similar data around the position in NGC2000:
USNO0825.00327703 01 26 17.51 -06 05 08.7 12.1 R 12.7 B (12.33V)
USNO0825.00327870 01 26 20.63 -06 03 32.9 15.4 R 18.1 B (16.41V)
The automatic identification software output these data as
counterparts of MCG-01-04-044, but they are not a galaxy.
