I am currently preparing a chart (and sequence) for RY Ser.
My only problem is - what are the correct coordinates for RY Ser?
Note the following J2000 coordinates, assigned to RY Ser.
17h23m6.7s -12o48'07" (vsnet-chat 299)
17 23 7.17 -12 48 09.1 (vsnet-alert 1107; vsnet 1339, chart for RY Ser
both posted 4 Aug. 1997)
17 23 7.54 -12 47 44.0 (PASP 109, 1997 April. Downes, Webbink & Shara
atlas of cataclysmic variables, 2nd ed.)
The DWB chart points to a different star, a little to the north of the
star indicated in the vsnet postings.
Which is the true RY Ser?
Regards,
/Mati
