G'day all,
Brian Skiff's article on carbon stars in the May 1998 Sky and Telescope
refers to the "unstudied variability" of EsB 365 (= CCCS 2031) in Crux.
I was surprised to read this description. Myself and a few other
southern observers have been watching this star for several years; and
some of our observations have appeared in VSNET messages. The VSS RASNZ
has been collecting observations too. Perhaps "unpublished" is a better
description?
Clearly it's time I published something about EsB 365. The IBVS seems to
be the right journal, but they want LaTEX manuscripts. I have never
heard of LaTEX but I presume this is a publishing format?
Searching Altavista and other services for the word "LaTEX" produced
thousands of references to sex devices; and I don't know enough about
LaTEX to do a more effective search. I cannot even locate any "LaTEX
Frequently Asked Questions" files.
So I have no idea of what LaTEX is, or what is required to use it.
Please help!
cheers,
Fraser Farrell
