Applying the Tycho measures to the WX CrA field, most of the brighter RASNZ chart letter sequences can be quantified. With an estimated magnitude of 11.3 for star l and VSNET measures for the fainter stars we have a suitable comparison set for WX CrA. It looks as follows: letter V mag d 10.8 f 107 h 110 l 113 m 121 n 125 p 126 q 130 r 133 s 139 I can precisely trace my old WX CrA estimates to the new standard by subtracting 0,3. Surely if we were to accept the new set, we could all convert our WX CrA estimates ? What do you think? Please comment whatever way... I also hope to sollicit some reactions from the VSS of RASNZ! Regards, Berto Monard / MLF Pretoria
