As you know, there are many amateur comets, asteroids, novae and supernova
hunters around world.
Rule of nomenclature of new comet and asteroids is well known.
In the case of new novae and supernovae, it is simple and also well known.
However, nomenclature of new variables is not popular among ammeters.
For example, V1414 Aql is mira variable that was discovered by M. Wakuda, who is
well-known Japanese nova searcher, during his nova patrol.
The discovery was first announced in Japanese publication. After observations by
Japanese ammeters for several seasons, it is published in VSOLJ publication in
English with its elements including coordinate, variable range, periods etc.
Then this star listed in name-list of variable star in IBVS as V1414 Aql with
reference of VSPLJ bulletin. However, we don't know how this variable designate
as new variable.
If someone is familiar with rule (criteria) of newly discovered variables,
please teach me.
