We are now designing a U-band filter for the Ouda CCD system.
A preliminary search failed to find a suitable prescribed product.
What solutions do readers recommend? Further we have a
U-band filter
for photomultipliers, but this has an appreciable leak in the red
end.
Is there any inexpensive (commercial) filter to cut this
unneccesary IR
transmission?

It is easy to get rid of the shorter wavelenghts by means of cut-on
filters. To cut out the longer wavelengths will always be at a cost
to the short (those you want) wavelenghts.
If a U filter stands for UV filter, I wonder why the Ouda team
wants to use it in front of a CCD.
For the efficient detection of the available photons and to
minimize interference from radiation at other wavelenghts it is
better to combine CCDs with V, R and NIR filters and PMTs with
V, B and U filters.
I wonder if this is a feasible option for the Ouda team?
