Our experience with a U band filter so composed

    UG1   (1 mm) [the active one]    
    BG39  (1 mm) [the blocking one]
    WG305 (3 mm) [just to add 3 mm to get 5 mm total thickness]

in a Wright 512x512 CCD camera, is quite satisfactory both in terms of
trasmission efficency and small color terms.
