Might that be a selection effect ?
Forgive me, but I don't know, how usually novae are found, but is it
possible, that people observe a region, where a nova was found, more
closely than others even weeks and months after the nova outburst ? So,
the likelyhood of detecting another nova in this region is possibly
higher ?

Another selection effect or due to poor statistic ?
