Japanese "Variable Stars" 1997 Vol. 28 No.1 has been recently published
by "Nihon Henkousei Kenkyuukai" (Reserch Group for Variable Stars in Japan?).
Titles from this monthly-to-bimonthly issue (text in Japanese).
* From the recent observations (Y. Maehara): visual observations of little
observed or poorly studied eclipsing binaries.
ZZ Aur, V523 Cas, V432 Per, AM Tau
* Report on the "Variable Star Festival", Nagano division (M. Momose)
Unfortunate clouds with some breaks. The target star X Tri was not
observed. Demonstration of CCD observation.
* February stars (M. Watanabe)
Recommended Mira stars, RV Tau stars, bright CVs
* Prediction of Mira-type maxima dates for 1997 (M. Watanabe)
* Inivitation to the Februrary "Variable Star Party"
(Sorry again for my very _iikagen_ English summary > Watanabe-san)
By the way, present Japanese eclipsing binary observers often use
what is called "Krakow's table" (SAC) or GCVS 4 for predicting minima
times -- prediction sometimes too unreliable. Does anyone know other
up-to-date and comprehensive eclipsing binary ephemeris table?

Taichi Kato
