VSNET Weekly Campaign Summary *** Last week news *** (new targets) XTE J0929-314 (RA = 09h29m20s.16, Dec = -31d23'02".7) R. Remillard reported: The RXTE All-Sky Monitor detected a faint X-ray transient. The average flux was 15 +- 2 mCrab during 2002 April 13-18, inclusive, rising to 20 +- 2 mCrab (April 19-24), and 26 +- 1 mCrab (April 25-30). The error circle does not contain any noteworthy sources in the Simbad catalogs. The ASM hardness ratios suggest an X-ray spectrum similar to transients associated with weakly magnetic neutron stars or some black hole systems (vsnet-campaign 1308, vsnet-campaign-xray 136). The optical counterpart was reported in IAUC 7889 by Greenhill et al.. P. Cacella reported V=18.3 on May 1 (vsnet-campaign-xray 137, 138, 139). SN 2002cp (RA = 09h59m35s.95, Dec = +35d23'57".4) The LOTOSS team discovered SN 2002cp on images taken on April 28.2 (17.9mag) and 30.2 (17.7mag). SN 2002cp is located about 64" west and 23" north of the nucleus of a face-on open spiral galaxy NGC 3074. The expected maximum for typical SN Ia is mag about 15.9. NGC 3074 has produced SN 1965N, whose maximum was pg = 16.2 (vsnet-campaign-sn 417). SN 2002cr (RA = 14h06m37s.59, Dec = -05d26'21".9) A nearby SN was discovered by R. Kushida. It seems to be rising, and is expected to reach mag 14 if it is of type Ia. SN 2002cr was discovered on May 1.701 at mag 16.5 and confirmed on the next night at mag 16.2. The position is about 40" east and 50" north of the center of a face-on spiral galaxy NGC 5468. Another SN 1999cp was appeared on the same galaxy. It was of type Ia, and its maximum was mag around 14.0 (vsnet-campaign-sn 418). UV Per (RA = 02h10m13s.58, Dec = +57d11'26".8) As reported by G. Orio performed R, V, and narrow fileters imaging and reported that the contour of the shell ("light echo") is irregular, and it is a reflection rather than an ionization nebula (vsnet-campaign-v838mon 353, 364). In the echo, HST detected approximately circular concentric rings or arcs, and several highly structured, non-concentric filamentary features (vsnet-campaign-v838mon 363). U. Munari provided a good short review on the light echo around V838 Mon in [vsnet-campaign-v838mon 362]. An emission line of H-alpha appeared in the spectrum taken by M.
