AO Oct rare outburst The large-amplitude dwarf nova AO Oct is undergoing a rare outburst as reported by Rod Stubbings. The last reported outburst occurred in 1999 June (mv=14.5, Stubbings). 2000 Aug. 31.478 <14.6 Sep. 2.397 14.4 The large amplitude (the object is reported to be mag 21 at minimum) suggests an SU UMa-type dwarf nova, which may undergo a superoutburst. Time-resolved photometry is very strongly encouraged. The object is selected as one of top priority targets of VSNET campaign. Please report your forthcoming observations to vsnet-campaign lists!
