Dear colleagues, More precise inspection of light curve of QW Ser gives period 0.0773(1) and amplitude 0.15(2) mag in R-band. This is in a quite good agreement of the report of dr. Pavlenko. The difference of period estimation could be caused by the fact, that dr. Pavlenko did not covered whole superhump cycle. On the light curve which is attached as an 20kb GIF are visible two superhump maxima and minima. On the descending branch there is a larger scater. Personaly I think this should be some reflection of QPOs 'cause there is no reason to have 2x larger scatter in a same brightness in my CCD frames. This should be certainly commented by others here. The data were obtained on Nicholas Copernicus Observatory in Brno (Czech Republic), using 40cm Newtonian telescope and CCD camera ST-7 (R-band Kron-Cousins filter). Each exposure was 45 seconds. No points were omitted, no filter was applied, modified JDs are without helliocentric correction. Hope that other observers will join the VSNET-campaign team on QW Ser to obtain more and precise data to have information about period behavior during the superoutburst of this star. Any comments are welcome. Have a nice day rudolf -- ******************************* Rudolf Novak N. Copernicus Observatory Brno, CR http://codel.astronomy.cz
