IGR J16358-4726: period detection from IAUC 8109 According to IAUC 8109, Kouveliotou et al. reported the detection of a periodicity of 5850+/-50 s in the X-ray transient IGR J16358-4726. If this period is an underlying orbital period of the binary, the period is rather exceptionally short. If this is the case, a search for infrared counterpart (and possibily associated variability) would provide crucial information, since only a few X-ray binaries with comprarble periods have been known. This period may be alternatively associated with QPOs, or a spin period. Regards, Taichi Kato VSNET Collaboration team
