The expected maximum for typical SN Ia is # mag about 15.3. The offset was with respect to the western # component. The discovery magnitude is consistent with the expected # maximum for typical SN Ia. SN 2002ic: This type Ia supernova was observerd by the SUBARU team, which confirmed the evidence of an interaction between the ejecta and a hydrogen-rich circumstellar medium. The recent spectrum (8 months after discovery) is similar to that of SNe IIn.
