Dear SN watchers, In [vsnet-alert 7671]: ># SN 2003cg (10:14:15.97, +3:28:02.5 (J2000.0), offset = 14"E, 5"N) is ># hosted by NGC 3169, a nearby spiral (SA(s)a pec) galaxy. The ># expected maximum for typical SN Ia is mag about 12.8 (!). NGC 3169 ># has produced SN IIL 1984L, whose maximum was B=15.2. IAUC 8099 informed that the ESO team and the CfA team has revealed that SN 2003cg is of type Ia near maximum on Mar. 25 UT but highly reddened.
