Dear SN watchers, IAUC 8027 informed the classification of four recent SNe by Baade telescope at Las Campanas. SN 2002ia: In [vsnet-campaign-sn 507] (Nov. 18): >SN2002ia 20011111.0 <200:C NEM >SN2002ia 20021030.53 192C NEM >SN2002ia 20021113.0 186C NEM >SN2002ia 20021114.0 185C NEM > ># A host galaxy of SN 2002ia (1:45:38.52, +24:08:07.9 (J2000.0), ># offset = 4"W, 4"N) is anonymous and quite dim (USNO rmag is 19.1). ># Its appearance on the DSS image suggest that it is possibly a spiral ># galaxy. It was a type Ia SN about 2-3 weeks after maximum on Nov. 29.13. The redshift of SN 2002ia was measured as about 0.072. SN 2002ib: In [vsnet-obs 42357] (Nov. 21): >SN2002ib 20021003.0 <212C PAL >SN2002ib 20021031.21 198C PAL >SN2002ib 20021112.0 182C PAL >SN2002ib 20021113.0 181C PAL >SN2002ib 20021119.0 183C PAL > ># A host galaxy of SN 2002ib (0:54:07.45, +17:33:53.7 (J2000.0), ># offset = 1"E) is a very dim object and hardly seen on the DSS. It was also a type Ia SN about 10 days after maximum on Nov. 29.10. The redshift of SN 2002ia was measured as about 0.068. SN 2002jf: In [vsnet-obs 42396] (Nov. 25): >SN2002jf 20021026.0 <210C PAL >SN2002jf 20021030.0 197C PAL >SN2002jf 20021101.0 194C NEM >SN2002jf 20021106.0 188C NEM >SN2002jf 20021112.0 178C PAL >SN2002jf 20021122.0 187C PAL > ># A host galaxy of SN 2002jf (2:34:35.43, +12:17:25.4 (J2000.0), ># offset = 3"E, 1"S) is a dim galaxy (USNO_A2.0 rmag = 18.6) with a ># possibly spiral nature. It possibly belongs to a distant cluster as ># well as neighbouring dim galaxies. It was again a type Ia SN about 2-3 weeks after maximum on Nov. 28.19. The redshift of SN 2002ia was measured as about 0.079. Probably a luminous event. SN 2002jh: In [vsnet-obs 42445] (Nov. 30): >SN2002jh 20021031.0 <204C PAL >SN2002jh 20021112.48 184C PAL >SN2002jh 20021112.49 184C PAL >SN2002jh 20021112.52 184C PAL >SN2002jh 20021115.0 183C PAL >SN2002jh 20021117.0 185C PAL >SN2002jh 20021125.0 186C PAL > ># A host galaxy of SN 2002jh (4:27:29.57, +06:01:34.2 (J2000.0), ># offset = 5"E, 3"S) is an anonymous disk galaxy. It was one more type Ia SN about 10 days after maximum on Nov. 28.23. The redshift of SN 2002ia was measured as about 0.048. It was somewhat subluminous or reddened.
