VSNET reconfiguration

Dear VSNET subscribers,

   We are currently reconfiguring the entire VSNET system, owing to the
upcoming system/network renewal.  Although we attempt to provide the
same function of the VSNET system even after the renewal, please remind
that reconfiguration of several functions may take some additional time.
[We have temporarily stopped the automatic e-mail archiving system
and stopped updating the data in the VSNET data browser].

   Although the old ML address will be valid even after the renewal,
they may become temporarily unreachable during the following months of
the entire network reconfiguration.  In order to minimize this effect,
please use the following address for posting to any VSNET addresses:

   vsnet-xxx@ooruri.kusastro.kyoto-u.ac.jp  (preferred)

   instead of

   vsnet-xxx@kusastro.kyoto-u.ac.jp         (current)

   That is, to add "ooruri" (we consider it a temporary measure) to the
list domain name.  The administrsative list vsnet-adm will (at least in
the meantime) be unchanged.

[For someone's interest, "ooruri" is the Japanese name for the Blue
Flycatcher, (cf. so-called "vsnet-ornithology" messages ;-) vsnet-chat
4260, 4262 etc.]
