[vsnet-announce 37] (fwd) 'Badtrans' Virus Alert

The following message is from Donn Starkey:

I have received three e-mails infected with this virus from various
astro-affiliated people within the last three days. As long as you do not
open the attached file, it appears that the virus will not infect your
machine. From the following statement made by Norton's, it appears to be a
particularly nasty virus:

W32.Badtrans.B@mm is a MAPI worm that emails itself out as one of several
different file names. This worm also creates a DLL in \Windows\System
directory as Kdll.dll. It uses functions from this DLL to log keystrokes.

See: http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.badtrans.b@mm.html for
prevention and removal instructions.
