Hi,
Polar UW Pic has shown the same activity last night (25-26 sep 2002).
Unfortunately bad weather prevented to provide any finer details on
behaviour or on the periodicity.
Astrometry performed on the bright UW Pic gave the following
coordinates with respect to the UCAC1 frame:
05 31 35.65 -46 24 05.4 (2000)
This position is very close to the one given in the on-line cv atlas.
However, from the images it is clear that the actual counterpart of UW
Pic (or at least of the present active object) is not indicated
correctly in the CV atlas, but that it is the Northern star of the close
duo, the brighter one on the published image.
