UM Pic was identified as a northern star of close (~ 3" separation)
double (Reinsch et al., A&A, 291, L27, 1994). The V-band image in
Reinsch et al. suggest that a southern star itself is also a closer
double, which cannot be separated in DSS images. Precise astrometry
will help to determine which is real violently oscillating object, as
well as whether it has a notable proper motion.
The most promising catalogued position of this object is:
GSC-2.2.1 05:31:35.596 -46:24:05.54 R=15.86 Bj=16.83
