Subject: [vsnet-obs 0] Possible Nova?
Attached is a sketch (I do not have any imaging) I made on December 15,
2001, at 23:59 Central Time from Onamia, Minnesota. I was using a 10"
reflector. I know that I am just an amateur, but there appeared to be a
"bulge" to NGC 2985. Could you check this for me? I have not been able
to find a reference image that has this shape. I am usually pretty
accurate on my sketches.
NGC 2985 is located at:
RA '09:45:52.6'
DEC = '+72:30:45
I might be willing to estimate that the mag. of the "blob" was better
than 12 but not better than 10. Well, there you have it. I have never
done anything like but I thought it was worth a try.
