Dear SN watchers, IAUC 7524 informed the discovery of several SNe by CTIO search group. Among them, SN 2000eo is the nearest and has become quite bright. It has been independently discovered by KAIT group (IAUC 7526). SN 2000eo was discovered on Nov. 16 at R = 19.2. The position is: R.A. = 03h09m08s.17, -10o17'55".3 (2000.0), which is about 12" west and 21" south of the nucleus of the host barred-spiral ((R')SB(r)a pec?) galaxy MCG -2-9-3. About 10" north of the SN, there seems to be a bright condensation or a foreground star. The LOTOSS KAIT has independently discovered it on Nov. 25.4, when SN 2000eo has brightened to 15.5C. The spectrum of this object taken on Nov. 20 shows the blue continuum with narrow hydrogen Balmar emission lines, which indicate that it seems to be a type IIn SN in the early phase. The recession velocity of the host galaxy is about 3000 km/s, which indicate that the typical SNeIa on this galaxy will reach mag about 14.7 at their maximum. The continuous magnitude estimate of this peculier SN is highly urged. Sincerely Yours, Hitoshi Yamaoka, Kyushu Univ., Japan yamaoka@rc.kyushu-u.ac.jp
