HS Vir bright outburst The SU UMa-type dwarf nova HS Vir is reported to be undergoing a relatively bright outburst. YYYYMMDD(UT) mag observer 20000328.783 <150 (A. Pearce) 20000329.783 <150 (A. Pearce) 20000406.459 <148 (R. Stubbings) 20000408.519 138 (R. Stubbings) The last reported (presumable) superoutburst occurred in 1999 May, when the object was first reported at mv=14.1, then slowly rose to mv=13.4. The SU UMa-type nature of HS Vir was first revealed by the Kyoto team during the 1996 superoutburst.
