[vsnet-alert 4498] CT Hya possible superoutburst

CT Hya possible superoutburst

The SU UMa-type dwarf nova CT Hya is reported to be undergoing a
bright outburst, likely a superoutburst. The latest reported outburst
of CT Hya occurred on 2000 Feb. 6 (mv=14.8, Stubbings, see also vsnet-alert
4130), whose rapid fading was observed by Henden (vsnet-alert 4135).
The last reported superoutburst of CT Hya was in 1999 February, when
a VSNET collaboration team (Kyoto team, Rudolf Novak and Seiichiro Kiyota)
confirmed superhumps (cf. vsnet-alert 2614, 2619, 2622, 2623, 2632, 2636,
2653, 2564, 2683, 2687 and IBVS 4794). Observations during the present
outburst are encouraged.

CT Hya is an SU UMa-type dwarf nova, whose nature was first revealed
by Nogami et al. (PASJ 48, 607, 1996). The reported superhump period is
P=0.06505 d. Time-resolved photometry during the current very favorably
situated outburst is strongly encouraged. The latest reported superoutburst
of CT Hya occurred in 1998 May (mv=14.4, Stubbings).
