Dear Colleague,

this is the Call for Papers of the second Workshop 
"Gamma-Ray Burst in the Afterglow Era" -  Rome - October 17-20 2000. 
The Workshop will be held in honour of Jan van Paradijs to remind 
his enormous contribution to the science of Gamma-Ray Bursts. 

The workshop is organized by IAS and ITeSRE, the two Italian Institutes 
more involved in the GRB Science, and ESO, a leader organization in 
the field of Optical Counterpart Searches. 
The meeting will be hosted at CNR Headquarters where a suitable conference 
room is available, right in the Center of Rome. 
The Rome GRB meeting will be preceded by a one-day Mini-Workshop on Soft 
Gamma-ray Repeaters in the same builidings (16 October - see separate
circular). 


The Registration to the Workshop and the Abstracts Submission must
be done through the WWW page:

The DEADLINE for the Abstracts submission is

The Registration Fee is fixed at 400.000 lire (approx. 200 US$) for the
Early Registration (i.e., by June 30, 2000) and 500.000 (approx. 250 US$)
after the Early Registration Deadline has expired.

The Registration Fee includes:
- participation to the SGR Mini-Workshop (October 16, 2000)
- participation to the Conference Banquet
- proceedings  

The registration fee must be paid in one of the following methods:
1) Cash
2) Check
3) Bank Transfer
