Dear Tomita-san and all, > We are writing to you about a possible supernova in a galaxy NGC >5303 (= UGC 8725). We (Tomita et al.) are now making spectroscopic >observations of galaxies at Okayama Astrophysical Observatory using >the 1.88m telescope. In the course of the observations, we found a >star-like object at the northwest edge of this dwarf irregular galaxy >on the auto guide monitor image (red image). The Digitized Sky Survey >image does not seem to show this star-like object. I also checked DSS-2 R image and found a starlike object just inside of the northwest edge of NGC 5303. It should be a foreground star. Sincerely Yours, Hitoshi Yamaoka, Kyushu Univ., Japan yamaoka@rc.kyushu-u.ac.jp
