RX Cha bright outburst
Rod Stubbings reports that the suspected SU UMa-type dwarf nova RX Cha
is undergoing an outburst.
YYYYMMDD(UT) mag observer
19991219.514 <144 (R. Stubbings)
20000101.510 144 (R. Stubbings)
20000101.668 144 (R. Stubbings)
The latest reported outburst of RX Cha occurred in 1998 September, during
which Gordon Garradd detected possible superhumps. Time-resolved photometry
during the current outburst is thus encouraged.

> The likely period is 0.08 d. Together with the large outburst amplitude
> (the astrometry by Garradd has confirmed that the object is below the limit
> of USNO catalog in quiescence), the present observation strongly suggests
> that RX Cha belongs to the SU UMa-type subclass of dwarf novae.
