Dear SN watchers, The fine page "bright supernovae" handled by Dave Bishop tells that the possible SN is found by Perth team in the southern galaxy NGC 2442. This is on the Virgo (or slightly more) distance, so it is expected to come quite bright, though now it is reported as about 18 mag. The images for finding are: http://vsnet.parg.asn.au/SNe/sn99xx.html Could you verify it, the southern observers? Sincerely Yours, Hitoshi YAMAOKA, Kyushu Univ., Japan yamaoka@rc.kyushu-u.ac.jp
