Thanks. Dr. Weidong Li The KAIT team University of California, Berkeley weidong@urania.berkeley.edu --------------------------------------------------------------- SN 1999XX in NGC 2532 A. Friedman and W. D. Li, University of California at Berkeley, on behalf of the Lick Observatory Supernova Search (cf. IAUC 6627, 7126) with the 0.8-m Katzman Automatic Imaging Telescope (KAIT), report the discovery of an apparent supernova in NGC 2532. The SN was discovered and confirmed on unfiltered images taken on Nov 22.42 UT and Nov 22.50 UT respectively, both with magnitude about 16.1. The new object is located at R.A.=8h10m13s.70, Decl.= +33o57'29".8 (equinox 2000.0), which is 18".6 west and 6".2 north of the nucleus of NGC 2532. KAIT image of the same field on Nov 14.4 UT (limiting magnitude about 18.0) showed nothing at the position of the SN.
