[vsnet-alert 3029] Nova Vel 1999 before its eruption

Here is a comparison between the coordinates of my candidate (mag 16.4)
from the USNO-A2.0 catalog (cf. vsnet-alert 3021) and the nova position
reported by Gordon Garradd (cf. vsnet-alert 3027):
USNO-A2.0: R.A. 10h44m48.416s Decl. -52d25'31.23" (J2000.0)
Garradd: 10h44m48.39s -52d25'30.7"
This position is located 0.026s (0.24") W and 0.53" N from my candidate.
The total distance is 0.58".

Regards,
Patrick

P.S.:
With a little bit more efforts Nova Vel 1999 will be able to replace
CK Vul as No. 9 on my list of the most brilliant novae (cf. vsnet-alert
3013).
