Here is a comparison between the coordinates of my candidate (mag 16.4) from the USNO-A2.0 catalog (cf. vsnet-alert 3021) and the nova position reported by Gordon Garradd (cf. vsnet-alert 3027): USNO-A2.0: R.A. 10h44m48.416s Decl. -52d25'31.23" (J2000.0) Garradd: 10h44m48.39s -52d25'30.7" This position is located 0.026s (0.24") W and 0.53" N from my candidate.
