Dear VSNETers,
BL Lac object, AO0235+164, is undergoing a optical bright outburst
(IAUC 6766). The object is about 16 mag in the current outburst. But,
R. Nesci of the WEBT campaign (http://gamma.bu.edu/webt/) reported that
the object was extremely bright at maximum of 14.8 mag in V-band on
Dec 28. Informations about the current outburst are found on the WEBT web
site (http://bu-ast.bu.edu/~mattox/multiwavelength/0235.html). The object
now seems to undergo an active state and show violent variabilities like
BL Lac in last summer. Follow-up observations are encouraged.
Best regards,
Katsura Matsumoto (Kyoto University, Japan)
