- Subject: [vsnet-alert 562] Potential ALEXIS EUV transient
The ALEXIS Satellite has detected a potential EUV transient in telescope
2B (93eV/130 Angstrom bandpass). The co-aligned 186 Angstrom/66 eV
telescope did not detect the source, although the coverage for that
telescope is poor due to high background effects.
The best fit location is: RA= 01h 32m 29s DEC= -28d 23m 30s +/- 0.3 degrees.
The source turned on sometime between 18UT 10/10/96 and 6UT 10/11/96 and
may have turned off again ~23UT 10/11/96, but the data coverage at that
time was poor. We will have more data from the satellite by 10AM MDT 10/13.
Follow-up observations are greatly appreciated.
