Hello VS-net observers.
This message is a request for help in order
to activate a program with IUE. I and CoI's S. Rosen, R. Prinja, J.
Cannizzo, and P. Szkody, have an IUE ToO
program to observe 2 or 3 COMPLETE TOAD outbursts. We wish to
start as soon as possible when an outburst in discovered and then follow
it until the star fades beyond IUE's limit, taking spectra each day
for about ten consecutive days, or more if the spectra are spaced out.
The purpose of this program is to study the structure of the winds
seen in snapshot IUE spectra for the TOADS (ApJ 1 Nov 1995 Issue).
Below I attach a list of the candidate stars for our program.
Some of these, while observable from the ground, may NOT be observable
with IUE due to sun angle constraints. These constraints change with
time, so I can not tell you which ones they are. These stars are generally
reported on vs-net so this request is in addition to make you aware
of some stars you might not have on your regular schedule.
Ground-based observations during the outbusrt will greatly help in
the data analysis of the IUE spectra and such data I receive in real
time, will also help in determinations of the IUE schedule.
Thanks again !!
Steve
